"I know what lies ahead may be even harder, but I know that I can do it now." - Carissa, Residential Program Graduate
Residential Program
The Hope House Residential Program was written by the founders and key staff and has been submitted for copyright so that it can be duplicated in future Hope House homes. Each teen mom is required to earn her high school diploma or GED and then pursue further education or career training. The structured five-phase program includes:
- Weekly individual and group parenting classes taught by a trained facilitator of the nationally recognized P.I.P.E. curriculum, designed for at-risk parents
- Weekly classes in the PEACE curriculum (aggression replacement training) designed for at-risk youth, which covers the five major components of empathy, boundaries, social skills, character development and anger management
- Classes in the FDIC’s Money Smart curriculum, taught by a staff member of 1stBank, to increase knowledge of personal finances and responsibilities
- Participation in GED Preparation Learning Lab until GED is achieved and career training or further education has begun
- Regular attendance of Bible-based church of choice
