Hope House Mentoring Program Picnic 2009

Mentoring Program

The Hope House Mentoring Program is a structured program for parenting teen mothers, ages 14-20, single or married. A trained volunteer mentor is paired with a teen mom in her community. They meet together 2-4 times a month to develop individual plans to help the young mom reach predetermined self-sufficiency markers, such as obtaining safe housing, accessing adequate healthcare for herself and her child, completing education or accessing other community resources. Resources such as diapers, formula and baby furniture, are available to teen moms in the Mentoring Program, as well as incentive gifts, such as computers, as the teen mom meets the goals she sets with her mentor.
