Our Teen Moms Give Back!
The teen moms at Hope House believe in giving back, and Westminster's annual Community Pride Day provides the perfect opportunity.
Recently 30 Hope House teen moms, children and staff members cleaned up Rotary Park, leaving it clean, green and beautiful (The Westminster Window noticed, too, and wrote a great story!).
“Watching everyone pick up the trash, my daughter Aliah was very curious,” said Stephanie Rodriguez, a Hope House teen mom. “It was fun to explain to her that we were joining all of these people to clean up the park. It was a great way to give back even if it is in a small way.”
2016 marks the fourth year Hope House has participated.
“Our focus is to help our teen moms become healthy, educated, self-sufficient members of the community, which includes volunteer work,” says Lisa Steven, Founder & Executive Director of Hope House. “It is exciting to watch them model for their children a commitment to and enthusiasm for giving back.”
