BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Brandon Ideker – President of the Board of Directors 
Brandon joined the Hope House Board of Directors in 2010 and has served as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee of the Board. The current President of the Board, Brandon is also the President of Colorado Short Term Funding (Costfund). Costfund is a private equity fund which lends money to investors purchasing mostly distressed properties in the Denver Metro area as well as the rest of Colorado. Brandon received his MBA & MS in Finance from the University of Denver in 2006. Brandon also served on the Board of Directors for the Ideker Family Foundation, and is involved in several other non-profits as well. Brandon enjoys golfing, skiing, fly fishing, and everything else Colorado has to offer.

Lindsay Bernum – Vice President
Lindsay Olson Bernum joined the Hope House Board of Directors in October 2012. She is an Investor at Smith Capital Investors, LLC. Lindsay earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Colorado and has 10 years of financial industry experience. Having been a teenage mother, Lindsay was blessed with a supportive community, empowering Lindsay to reach self-sufficiency. Based on this amazing support, Lindsay strongly believes in giving back to the community that supported her and has been involved with Volunteers of America, AWARE Alzheimer’s Association Colorado Chapter and Heroes Forever. Lindsay currently resides in Denver with her husband and three children and enjoys yoga, exploring Colorado’s beautiful mountain towns, and traveling with her family.

Lori Anne Reinwald – Secretary
Lori Anne Reinwald joined the Hope House Board of Directors in 2013. She works at Kundinger, Corder & Engle, P.C. and holds her MS in Accounting from Oklahoma State University. Ms. Reinwald is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants. She teaches a not-for-profit accounting and reporting course through the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants. Ms. Reinwald is also actively involved in community activities and is currently treasurer of Colorado Children’s Immunization Coalition (CCIC), an organization working to improve the immunization rate of children in Colorado. Lori Anne currently lives in Arvada with her husband and two children.

Jennifer Zertuche –  Treasurer
Jennifer Zertuche joined the Hope House Board of Directors in May 2018 and has been a member of the Finance Committee since 2009. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Metropolitan State University of Denver. She is a Senior Vice President of Accounting at FirstBank and has over 15 years of experience in banking. Jennifer and her husband Erik have four children and enjoy hiking, riding motorcycles and traveling.

Brian Bess
Brian Bess joined the Hope House Board of Directors in 2017. As one of the founding principles of Enduring Resources, Brian has held the position of Vice President of Engineering since the firm’s inception. Brian was also Vice President of Engineering for Westport from 1998 to 2004 and has held various engineering positions with Petro-Lewis Corp, Energy Investment Management, General Royalty Companies and General Atlantic Resources/UMC Petroleum Corp. Highly committed to philanthropic causes, Brian has also served on the boards of Elevate USA and Hope International. He and his wife Christine live in Littleton and have two grown children.

Amy Bowman
Amy joined the Hope House Board of Directors in 2016. A Portfolio Manager for the Commercial Lending team at Colorado Business Bank, Amy earned her B.A. in Communication and Journalism from the University of Northern Colorado and has 14 years of experience in banking.  Amy has also served on the Wishbone Foundation Board as Treasurer. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and children. Being a mother herself to two young boys, the moms at Hope House hold a special place in her heart and she is honored to be a part of their journey.

Mindy Brown
Mindy Brown became involved with Hope House in January 2011 as a member of the Board of Directors and served as the President of the Board from 2012-2016. Over the years, Mindy has participated in many community programs and projects involving children, music and the arts. Over the past 25 years, Mindy has been involved in the geospatial technology field. Mindy owns Bruun Consulting Group, providing consultative services for the geospatial market. In the most recent years, she has held the positions of Vice President of Corporate Marketing for Sanborn and Executive Director of Marketing for Space Imaging. She and her husband Rich feel blessed with their family of adult children. Rich and Mindy love the outdoors and enjoy many activities in the mountains and Northwoods of Wisconsin. Mindy currently serves as a board director and grants chair for a family foundation.

Stacy Hougland
Stacy Hougland joined the Hope House Board of Directors in 2008. Previously, Stacy was a Director of Advertising for a book publishing company and Director of Volunteers for Oklahoma Special Olympics. She has served on committees and boards for her church including Parent Council, Deacons, and Women’s Ministry. Her greatest joys continue to be her husband of 22 years, two grown children, four horses and everything about living in Colorado. Stacy served as the President of the Board of Directors from 2010 to 2012.

Stephen A. Prokopiak, P.E. 
Stephen joined the Hope House Board of Directors in 2016. With 45 years of engineering and construction management experience, Steve holds a B.S. and an MS in Civil Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. His experience includes not only design and design management but also construction management of small to medium sized projects. Since 2003, Steve has also served on the Board of Directors of HomeAid Colorado, a national charity with a mission to provide housing for the transitionally homeless with emphasis on providing facilities to local young families and military veterans. He has received several awards for his commitment to this cause, including HomeAid-Colorado Volunteer of the Year. Since retiring in 2015, Steve and his wife have focused on family, travel and giving back to the community.

Brenda Reid
Brenda Reid has served as a Hope House volunteer on the Development Committee and Advisory Board since 2011. She is the Global HR Technology Leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she focuses on technology as the enabler to developing great talent. A teen mom herself, Brenda is passionate about the Hope House mission to bring teen moms to self-sufficiency. When she is not working or busy championing for Hope House, Brenda enjoys traveling the world, living her yoga practice and being in the outdoors. She and her husband Mark live in Aurora and have two grown-and-flown children.

Kim Short
Kim Short joined Hope House in 2017. Having worked in Jefferson County Public Schools for 30 years, her experience includes both high-school and middle-school counseling as well as several years teaching in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences. For 11 years, Kim also taught and worked closely with the many young teen mothers in the Jefferson County Adolescent and Parenting Program. Her experience has given her a deep passion for young mothers and their children. Kim most enjoys spending time with her husband Ken and two grown boys, JD and Joey. Her interests are health and nutrition, the outdoors, spending time at her cabin, and off-roading with her family.

John Steven
John Steven, with his wife Lisa, is one of the founders of Hope House of Colorado and has served on the Board of Directors since the ministry’s inception in 2000. John and Lisa were teen parents and have been married 23 years. John is a machinist and has been with his family’s business, J&D Machine Technology, for 26 years. John is also a kinetic sculptor and designs steel sculptures that can be viewed at www.jrssculpture.com

Nicole Trujillo
Nicole Trujillo has served on the Hope House Board of Directors since 2015. She is the Firm Administrator for the law firm Elkus & Sisson, PC. She manages the firm’s day-to-day activities, operational systems, processes and polices of the firm and oversees the overall accounting and financial management, reporting, planning, and initiatives related to growth. Ms. Trujillo earned a B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an MBA from Regis University. She enjoys participating in local chamber leadership programs and other community and volunteer programs.

Moni Piz Wilson
Moni Piz Wilson has served on the Hope House Board of Directors since 2014. She is the owner and president of Grandma’s Frozen Noodles, a WBENC-certified business based in Arvada that has produced homestyle, fresh-frozen noodles for over 50 years. A strong believer in civic involvement, Moni currently sits on the Arvada Urban Renewal Authority Board of Commissioners, following a nine-year stint on the Arvada Economic Development Board of Directors. She has also served on the Foothills Animal Shelter Board of Directors, where she was instrumental in a capital campaign that helped build a new facility in Jefferson County. Moni and her husband live in Golden with their four rescued dogs.

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
OF THE BOARD

The purpose of the Development Committee is to expand Hope House of Colorado’s reach via influential members of the communities we serve. This committee will help support our two major annual events as well as our smaller events. Committee members help with connections, promotion and solicitation and attend quarterly meetings.
