Dena is an Industrial Engineer from Georgia Tech – go jackets! – with over 15 years of experience including Clinical Operations Manager at a start-up pharmaceutical company, Management Engineer at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, a business consultant, and a small business owner. In every position, Dena’s core drive was to improve processes, systems and approaches while building strong relationships. Over 10 years ago, Dena was inspired by the teen moms at Hope House who were working to create the best lives for themselves and their families. She started volunteering at Hope House and has been a consistent champion ever since. Dena’s passion for community and inclusivity also led her to volunteer with Title 1 school kindergartners, lead 4th and 5th graders at Vacation Bible School, coordinate a National Night Out, and organize a high school career fair. Although she misses the beautiful flowers and trees of her native south, Dena loves being outside in the Colorado sunshine with any combination she can get of her husband, two teen boys and black lab.
